The Forsaken Format1 Corinthians 14:26-31
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying
27 If...Unknown tongue...let it be by two, or at the most by three...
28...if there be no interpreter...let Him speak to himself and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or threeand let the other[s] judge
30 If anything be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace
31 For ye may ALL prophesy ONE BY ONE, that ALL may learn and ALL be comforted.

When you come together for worship, (1 Cor 14:26)
In 1 Cor. 14:26 is Paul saying collectively every one may have a psalm, a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation, and interpretation or is Paul saying that collective participation should be done away with because it lends to confusion? (1 Cor 14:31)
Is there plurality of participation in your local church, as in the case of the gift of Prophesy (1 Cor. 14:29) where two or three, are seen prophesying in turn in your local church?
In verse 1 Cor. 14:29 Paul says, "let the other[s] Judge." What does this mean to you? (See Acts 17:11, Eph. 4:15).
Is 1 Cor. 14:30 type of participation in which there is mutuality of expression and honoring prevalent in your church?
Why does Paul say in 1 Cor. 14:31, collectively ALL may bring a psalm, a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation, or an interpretation?
Should churches endovor to adopt a
model presented in 1 Corinth. 4:26-31? And, are the numerous other models we observe truly biblical models?
If churches model on our traditions and not on what may be gleaned from 1 Corinthians 14:26-31, is it possible that God's intent for the church body may be thwarted as it pertains to the Unity Of the Faith... and... every joint supplying Ephesians 4:13-16. (Collos. 2:8, Mark 7:8,9,13)?
With the order of 1 Corinth. 14:26-31, and the plurality of participation often replaced by an order that places the task on "ONE MAN," or a negligeable few to unfailingly bring forth the weekly homily, is it possible that the "art of preaching" takes precedent over the"simplicity of the gospel" as ministered through every joint? (2 Cor.11:2,3, 1 Cor.2:4,5)
How you answer the above questions among other things, will have a direct bearing on the church meeting you will in love (Eph. 4:15a) endevor to see established. It will have a direct bearing on your understanding of the role of elders as stated in Ephesians 4:11-16. It will have a direct bearing on your understanding of the meaning of the Unity of the faith talked about in Ephesians 4:13. It will have a direct bearing on your understanding of the reason for why God gives more honor for those who have less honor as stated in 1 Corinth. 12:25.
The Forsaken PurposeEphesians 4.11-16
11 And HE GAVE some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 FOR the perfecting of the saints, FOR THE WORK OFTHE MINISTRY , for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 TILL WE ALL come IN THE UNITY OF THE FAITH , AND OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SON OF GOD, UNTO A PERFECT MAN, UNTO THE MEASURE OF THE STATURE OF THE FULNESS OF CHRIST.
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, MAY GROW UP UNTO HIM in all things, which is THE HEAD, even Christ:
16 FROM WHOM the whole body FITLY JOINED TOGETHER AND COMPACTED by that WHICH EVERY JOINT SUPPLIETH, according to the EFFECTUAL WORKING in the measure of EVERY PART, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

From verse 11 what are the gifts that equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Ask yourself, if we elevate, certain gifts and not seek to surface all gifts is it possible that the adequate equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry may be hampered?
Ask yourself the question, have we to a great extent redefined, Ephesians 6:11,12 to read:
In verse 12, what is your understanding of the word MINISTRY, and what would you say is the reason why God our Father provided the church with the 5 fold ministerial gifts aforementioned?
What does verse 16 suggest is the experience of the church when saints are perfected? What does verse 16 suggest happen when the church grows to a place where it comes to the Unity of the Faith?
When the church comes to the Unity of the Faith (Eph. 4:13) Who is leading and how?
According to Ephesians 4:11-16 would the exclusive ministry of current leaders 1)increase, 2)decrease, or 3)stay the same through the passage of time? What would each of these manifestations respectively suggest?
John the baptist stated an eternal axiom when He said: "He must increase and I must decrease." (John 3:30). Does Ephesians 4:11-16 suggest that this is a axiom for church elders to follow in the context of the local church thereby progressively handing over leadership if you will from themselves to the Chief Shepherd to lead through every joint?
Is it possible that the one man weekly teaching-preaching format can degenerate into ritualistic repetative exercise of one joint, rather than the use of "every joint"?
When the body approaches "the Unity Of the Faith" (Eph. 4:13)--elders having fulfilled their intended role of bringing to fruition a maturity for the ministry in the body--as may be suggested by the word "Till" Eph. 4.13, an a ear to hear from the Chief Shepherd formed (Ephesians 4:16)--is it possible that the singular preaching format with all due respect can result into a type of "unnecessary vain repetition" in fulfillment of an expectation. Could this expectation in fact interrupt the CHIEF SHEPHERD minister a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation, an interpretation through "the Unity Of the Faith" and "through every joint?"
How often have you heard an Expository Sermon on Ephesians 4:16 or 1 Corinthians 14:26-31 or 1 Corinthians 12:25 so as to render its indepth meaning and import?

The Untapped GiftsExcerpts from Romans 12
For we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same office (4) ...Having then gifts differing according to the grace given to us (6).......
Excerpts from 1 Corinthians 12
...there are diversities of gifts but the same Spirit (4)....But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal (6)...For the body is not one member but many (14) ..... having given more abundant honor to that part which lacked (24)....that... there should be no schism in the body (25) but that the members may have the same care one for another(25)1 Peter 4:10
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same, one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Is there a recognizable, pureposeful agenda put forth by the elders in the church you fellowship in to search out, authenticate, and make room for your unique spiritual gift to flurish in your church? If the spiritual gifts of a few are repetitiously used to the neglect of the spiritual gifts of others would there be a visible fulfillment of 1 Corinthians 12:25, or would it indicate that there is a 1 Corinthians 12:21 presence in the body. Do you feel fulfilled or unfulfilled in your church?
While you may be exhorted by the elders in your church in weekly homilies to "run the race...and so fulfill the ministry God has set before you," do you feel they know what your particular calling and spiritual gifts are, and created space for you to fulfill "that calling" in the context of your local church?
Should elders generally speaking need to take heed that they may unintentionally be in fact be hindering the gifts of many in the body coming to frution?
This is one persons research. Allbeit, it is witnessed to by a number of likeminded believing friends and disciples of the Lord around the world.
